Giving Back

To whom much has been given, much is required (Luke 12:48). It’s possible that no one understand this passage better than the folks down at Place of Hope. When God does something big for you like offering salvation and then taking away the desire to drink and do drugs, it is natural to want to give back. Last weekend, 9 of our guys went out into a rural area to help some victims of the May flooding in TN. It was hot, hard work, but so rewarding to offer tangible help to others in need. Several guys also helped unload a couple of moving vans that weekend. Surely they slept well on Sunday night!

10 Year Anniversary!

Tuesday, April 20, 2010 we celebrate our 10 year anniversary of opening our doors and taking in our first residents. I am astounded by how quickly ten years have gone by. But more than that, I am in awe of the Lord’s consistent ability to do the impossible.

The story of Place of Hope is how God takes nothing and miraculously turns it into something. We could not share the countless miracles of provision here in this context. His supply has always been more than enough to support His ministry and vision. He has provided by using the most remarkable people, churches, agencies, and institutions.

We have helped alcoholics, addicts, the homeless and the poor without charging them for the programs and services. God has orchestrated this by using incredible people who have made this possible.

We have so many partners who have come alongside so unselfishly to help people they don’t know and who are in no position to give anything back. Truly amazing.

We have a faithful and dedicated staff who are devoted to doing the will of God and helping others. He has used these special people to facilitate healing and restoration of bankrupt lives.

We have a loyal and faithful Board of Directors who provide unity in their leadership and unwavering support of God’s ministry.

But what really stands out are the miracles God has performed, again too many to report here. Close to the very top of the list was on February 6, 2006. Mr. Forrest Preston and his two sons and daughter-in-law gave us this fantastic building he so graciously and generously allowed us to use. God has used this man in an incredible and mighty way.

But the greatest thing of all is the transformation of human lives destroyed by alcohol, drugs, mental illness and reckless living. These lives have been changed by the supernatural miraculous power of God, to Him be the glory.

As we celebrate this special anniversary, we are planning an event in the near future to bring together as many people as possible who God has used to accomplish what He has done. More details and invitations will be forthcoming.

The foundation has been laid; we have built on the Rock. We are excited about all that is happening now as well as what His future holds for us. May God richly bless and prosper you, our faithful partners, in every area of your lives. Thank You. You are always in our thoughts and prayers.

Welcome to Place of Hope

Have you ever been to a place where miracles happen right before your very eyes?  In the next few weeks, and months, we hope to share with you some amazing stories of transformation that take place every day at Place of Hope.  We have realized, as all alcoholics and addicts do, that we cannot stay sober in our own strength.  It is only through the power of the the Living God, that we can make it through each day.  As we share, we hope that you will get to know this God, who desires not only to save you, but to prosper you in every area.   Please bookmark this page and check back often as we will be posting new stories of hope and words of encouragement.  It is our desire that you would experience a small part of what happens at Place of Hope.  We’d love to hear your story as well, so do come and visit often.
